Ojibwe Word of the Day: "Bagwaajigan Nakwebiigewinini" (Dream Catcher)

Boozhoo Nanaboozhoo with Michael Lyons

Today Nanaboozhoo tells the story of the Spider-women "Asabikeshiinh-ikwe" who gave us the dream catcher "bagwaajigan nakwebiigewinini." It is the story of the spider women who taught the young moms to make the gift of the dream catcher for their babies. This custom of using the dream catchers to catch the bad dreams while letting the good dreams through is still in use today.
