Quad Cities First Thursdays: A Celebration of Art and Community

Quad City First Thursday

Virginia, Mountain Iron, Eveleth, and Virginia, MN showcase commerce and creativity every First Thursday!

…we were very inspired by the Grand Rapids First Fridays, of course. So we thought, well, that's kind of on the other end of the Iron Range, why don't we try and do something like that over here?...And so far, we've had a pretty decent coming together of small businesses and local artists. And it just kind of keeps growing.. – Lindsey Bergan

Virginia, Gilbert, Eveleth, and Mountain Iron are Minnesota communities that have worked together as an economic engine since the 1800s. Sharing a wide range of resources, the Quad Cities have a symbiotic relationship that continues today. In that spirit, Quad Cities First Thursdays pairs artists and performers with businesses throughout the Quad Cities every first Thursday of the month. Lindsey Bergan joined the morning show to discuss the initiative, how it came to be and what’s going on this First Thursday!

So it's more ...an interactive event where people can just get out and meet new artists and hopefully purchase things from the stores…and just a nice way to get everybody out ... and give somebody something else to do on a Thursday night. - Lindsey Bergan
