TED Talks have been available online as videos and podcasts for years. More recently, TED has branched to communities across the country, creating another arm of their events called TEDx. Bemidji, MN will host its inaugural TEDx talks Friday, April 14 from 2-5pm. The event will take place at the Historic ChiefTheatre in downtown Bemidji, there will also be satellite events with live feeds at both the Beaux Arts Ballroom on the Bemidji State University campus and the Rail River Folk School. Can't make it to any of those facilities? You can stream live at your computer wherever you are. Samantha Nienow, Tammy Schotzko and John Andringa are three individuals who've been key in organizing the event. They stopped by the KBXE studio to talk about why TEDx matters to them, why the theme of 'THRIVE' makes sense in the Bemidji area, who the presenters will be and what goes into preparing for a presentation such as this.
