Statewide Conversation on COVID19 August 14th - Lt. Gov Peggy Flanagan

Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan

A statewide conversation with Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan.  It is a time for all of us to learn about the State of Minnesota's response to this COVID-19 pandemic.

This week the Lt Governor answered questions about the upcoming school year including hybrid learning.  She spoke of the strong leadership coming out of theLeech Lake Band of Ojibwe and their recent statement about starting the school year this fall through distance learning.

“protecting our elders and vulnerable and ensuring the best for future generations is a core tenet of the Anishinaabe identity”

We also talked with the Lt. Governor about safely voting in a pandemic, the MN Senate's opposition to Governor Walz's peacetime emergency and the recognition from the MN Governor's Association and Results for America.

In addition to the creation of a comprehensive, equity oriented COVID-19 dashboard, Minnesota excelled in the areas of evaluation leadership and performance management in 2020.
