Each week we hear from regular listeners and classrooms around the region who are paying attention to the natural world around them. Resident phenologist John Latimer gathers the messages and shares them during the Phenology Show every Tuesday morning.   This week we were so thrilled to hear from so many classrooms taking part in the Phenology Curriculum!  We heard from Student Phenologists in Kelliher, Marcell, Hill City, Pike Lake, North Shore, and Northfield.

We would love to add your observations to the program! Send them via email or voicemail at 218-999-9876.

Are you a teacher and interested in the Phenology Curriculum?  Send John an email!

As a mail carrier in rural Grand Rapids, Minn., for 35 years, John Latimer put his own stamp on a career that delivered more than letters. Indeed, while driving the hundred-mile round-trip daily route, he passed the time by observing and recording seasonal changes in nature, learning everything he could about the area’s weather, plants and animals, and becoming the go-to guy who could answer customers’ questions about what they were seeing in the environment.
