Let's Visit Ely: A Conversation with Ely's Eva Sebesta

Mural, downtown Ely

"There's just this connection with the woods and water, but then once I got up here and got to know the people here in Ely, it's really been the people that have made it feel like home."

Eva Sebesta is the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Ely, MN.  In this segment of Let's Visit, she talks about why she fell in love with Ely.  Ely has so much to offer both residents and vacationers.  From all the fantastic outdoor activities around Ely including dogsledding, ice fishing, kicksledding, and canoeing, to attractions like the International Wolf Center, the North American Bear Center, the Dorothy Molter Museum and much more, a person or a whole family has many options to be entertained by and take part in the pristine, natural surroundings of this woods and water town.

In addition to the multitude of things to do in Ely, this small, remote town touts a lively downtown area complete with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery and of course a variety of outfitters prepared to provide everything needed for outdoor adventures - from paddleboards to dogsleds.  Ely is home to a vibrant art community where creations by local artisans can be found in many of the locally owned downtown shops and it's also home to the Steger Mukluk company, Wintergreen Northern Wear  as well as Crapola.
