Getting Your Groceries During Covid-19: Nate Lane from Super One Foods Gives His Advice

Nate Lane manages Super One Foods South in Grand Rapids

Nate Lane is manager of Super One Foods South in Grand Rapids. Grocery workers are in contact with the public every day, so during a pandemic safety for both shoppers and staff is a big concern.

John Bauer talked with Nate about store safety, the supply chain, and employment opportunities at Super One. You can hear the full interview below (did you know pickles are in short supply?)

It is clear that Nate Lane is extremely grateful to his employees. “I cannot thank my employees enough,” he said. “It’s been amazing, the support they’ve shown.”

Thinking of grocery shopping during the stay at home order? Here are some things you can do to help:

  • The most important message: Stay 6’ away from employees and other customers.
  • The store would temporarily rather bag in plastic or paper rather than cloth bags. If you do bring a cloth bag, bag your groceries yourself.
  • Shop alone rather than bringing in your whole family.
  • Shopping from 6-8 a.m. is reserved for the elderly and those at higher risk from the Coronavirus.
