Common Thread Show at MacRostie

On the first Friday of every month we check in with Katie Marshall from the MacRostie Art Centerin Grand Rapids.  She fill us in on all the haps and goings on in the arts scene around town.  So much happening in Grand Rapids tonight!  With options like iron pours, community rug making, live music and art exhibits including jewelry, bath and body products, tye dying, a vintage car show and even a collaborative fiber art show including more than 20 artists,  much more, there is something interesting for pretty much everyone looking for an experience.  Click the link for a full run-down, or check out Grand Rapids Arts for a listing!

Katie Carter started at Northern Community Radio in 2008 as Managing Editor of the station's grant-funded, online news experiment Northern Community Internet. She returned for a second stint in 2016-23. She produced Area Voices showcasing the arts, culture, and history stories of northern Minnesota.
John has been listening to KAXE since the early days in 1976, and has worked as our Development Director from 1995-2022. Now semi-retired and writing, sculpting and enjoying the good life, you can hear him on the Morning Show Fridays.
Heidi Holtan is KAXE's Director of Content and Public Affairs where she manages producers and is the local host of Morning Edition from NPR. Heidi is a regional correspondent for WDSE/WRPT's Duluth Public Television’s Almanac North.
