KAXE/KBXE are proud to announce a fundraiser for Northern Community Radio with the ever impressive Davina & The Vagabonds, Saturday, September 28th at the newly opened Rapids Brewing Co in Grand Rapids! Evening starts at 6pm with a social hour (open to all) with music starting at 8pm (tickets required).
DAVINA AND THE VAGABONDS have created a stir on the national music scene with their high-energy live shows, level A musicianship, sharp-dressed professionalism, and Davina Sowers’ commanding stage presence. With influences ranging from Fats Domino and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, to Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the band is converting audiences one show at a time, from Vancouver to Miami, festivals across Europe and back to Grand Rapids!
Their new album, Sugar Drops, out on Red House Records, is available now. Of the record, Davina said 'It represents about 100 years of Americana; I did exactly what I wanted to do.
