Each Friday morning we hear news from northeastern Minnesota when Marshall Helmberger joins Heidi Holtan for Border News Roundup. This week Marshall gives a regional update on the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Cook area as the hotspot, with a 100% surge in cases in the last three weeks. Heidi and Marshall discuss the employee embezzlement of $315,000 at the Fortune Bay Resort and Casino and the U.S. patent awarded to Lamppa Manufacturing in Tower for their wood furnace. Marshall ends with a story of ice skating in the Boundary Waters and falling through the ice. The good news is he was prepared with a life vest, ice picks and dry clothes and all ended well.
