Area Voices: Trains at the Depot!

Katie Carter talking trains with Gary Rozman and Andy Mack

“Who doesn’t love trains? Really. This is why we are celebrating their history, their impact on the community... That’s what this weekend is all about.” – Gary Rozman, Executive Director of the Beltrami County Historical Center.

By popular demand, train day at the Beltrami County Historical Society has been expanded to trains weekend.  This Saturday and Sunday, “Trains at the Depot!” will celebrate the history of trains in northern Minnesota. In addition to the permanent train exhibit at the Beltrami Historical Socity, this special event will feature a special collection of train memorabilia, train videos, access to train historians and much more.  The Northern Iron Horse Railroad Society will be on hand, sharing their extensive model train exhibit which lives in the basement of the historical society.  A Lego city with a functioning Lego train will also be in full working order for people to witness.

Andy Mack from the Northern Iron Horse Railroad Society educates us on the history of trains in the area while Gary Rozman connects us with the special events at the depot this weekend in this segment of Area Voices.
