…I think that’s one of the fun things about this whole endeavor that I’ve been on. Different people. Different materials. Different designs. It’s just really kind of fun.... and they're not my customers, they're my friends. - Michael Kelsey
Michael Kelsey has been making and selling jewelry since the 1970s. He owned Kelsey’s As You Like It in downtown Bemidji for 42 years before closing the store and retiring in 2017. He’s still designing jewelry in his home workshop. This past Friday Michael hosted a pop up sale with fellow jewelry designer Hattie Peterson and mala bead designer Tracy Kelsey. Sarah Linda from Cake Bemidji provided, well, cake.
Michael stopped by the morning show earlier in the week and let us in on his history as a designer, his favorite stones and the emotional nature of jewelry shopping.
…you don’t get ahead with just dreaming about things. You have to have some action. - Michael Kelsey
