Area Voices: Arts of the Earth in Bemidji

In celebration of Earth Day and Earth Week, Bemidji State University hosts the 2nd annual Arts of the Earth Festival this Saturday and Sunday.  The two day event promises activities and educational, enlightening experiences for all ages.  Both days have a full schedule of workshops, documentaries, arts demonstrations, live music and inspiration.  More than 30 artists and vendors will have booths set up and live music will be performed by local bands throughout the weekend as well.

Bemidji State University Sustainability Coordinator Erika Bailey-Johnson and  Kathryn Gonzalez, one of the event organizers, stopped by KBXE to discuss the weekend and talk about ideas for living more sustainably. 

Katie Carter started at Northern Community Radio in 2008 as Managing Editor of the station's grant-funded, online news experiment Northern Community Internet. She returned for a second stint in 2016-23. She produced Area Voices showcasing the arts, culture, and history stories of northern Minnesota.
