Tuesdays are special around Northern Community Radio.  Tuesday is the day we gather the phenology reports that have been called, emailed, or sent in by our listeners and share them with the world.  We love hearing from the students and people in our region and we love learning about what you've been noticing in terms of the seasonal changes taking place in nature.   What have you seen lately?  Share your observations with us and others by leaving a message on our talkback line at 218-999-9876.  You can also send an email to comments@kaxe.org.

Walker-based Child Psychologist Amy Donnan created her line of My Feelings(tm) toys out of her drive to to help young people having trouble with their emotions.  It was the beginning of a library of tools she would develop in the name of children's mental health.    Stuffed critters,  recipes, coloring books, andmeditation recordings are all part of her toolbox to help children and their families understand and communicate in the Language of the Heart.  She talked with our Area Voices host recently about her Love My Feelings line.

This Saturday, December 10, The city of Hibbing will celebrate Nobel Prize Laureate Bob Dylan.

This past October, after it was announced that Bob Dylan would be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, Craig Hattam mentioned to some friends that Hibbing should consider raising funds for a statue of hometown hero Bob Dylan.  As it turns out, Dylan's contemporaries reached out and asked that in lieu of a statue, something more impactful should happen - a fundraiser supporting arts education opportunities for the young people of Hibbing.
