Phenology is the rhythmic biological nature of events as they relate to climate. Each week, our resident phenologist John Latimer closely assesses the subtle changes happening outside and gives a full, official phenology report. In this week's report we learn that John went ice skating on his lake and he's got advice for folks heading out to skate in the coming days. He also discusses many beautiful plants observable in the forest these days, over-wintering caterpillars, and he answers a question about the owl's ability to turn its head in a circle... turns out owls can turn their heads 270 degrees! Check out more details of these highlights and much more in the full report!
We're grateful for Phenology here on Northern Community Radio. If you are, too, consider making a contribution to the station!
