WALKER — The Walker Area Food Shelf is in need of donations after a recent spike in demand.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the food shelf's distribution day, 92 families visited, according to Hope Lutheran Church. The food shelf ran out of a number of products an hour before closing, including frozen foods and dairy.
The food shelf will not have another food delivery before next Tuesday’s distribution.
Area churches are asking people to bring donations such as canned meals, butter, dairy products, milk and eggs to the food shelf from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday or during the day Tuesday.
