HIBBING — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to share recommended alternatives for the Highway 169 corridor through Hibbing at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the Memorial Building.
This is the third public meeting for the corridor study, and this meeting will share feedback along with the traffic and safety data that are guiding the recommendations.
There is currently no project planned for this corridor, but the study and public meetings are intended to guide a future project.
MnDOT has developed intersection alternative options for 13th Street, 15th Street, Howard Street, the hotel on the corner of Howard Street and Highway 169, 23rd Street, 25th Street, Gray Street, Lees, 31st Street, 37th Street and 39th Street. Options include J-turns, Michigan lefts, roundabouts, road realignments, median closures, offset lefts and continuous Ts.
More information on the recommended alternatives can be found on the project website.
