On the Friday Morning Show Heidi Holtan talks with Marshall Helmberger editor and publisher of the Timberjay Newspaper. This week they talk about the latest lawsuit filed by Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness, which is the lead organization in the national Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters. The lawsuit seeks to force the state’s Department of Natural Resources to prohibit sulfide-based copper-nickel mining within the headwaters of the Rainy River watershed.
Marshall also tells us about two new projects being funded by the IRRRB, a hockey movie “Way of the Warriors” filmed locally by Minnesota native John Montague and the rebuilding of the Mickey Elverum Bog Walk in Orr.
