Location: KAXE – Grand Rapids, KBXE – Bemidji, hybrid remote 
Compensation: Salaried ($49,000 - $57,000 depending on experience)

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

We are looking for a motivated individual to build and execute a development plan to include securing underwriting and sponsorship of radio programming, KAXE/KBXE events, and initiatives across digital products and multimedia platforms.

The ideal candidate loves to make connections in the community and strengthen our 46 year success into the future. This role will:

• Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for making connections in the community and acting as an ambassador for the organization in a variety of public settings
  • Responsible for achieving underwriting and membership revenue budget goals and managing underwriting and membership staff
  • Display comfort and experience with a focused sales role that includes prospecting, cold calls, needs assessments, proposal creation and presentation to secure sales, servicing the account and forecasting and reporting results to management
  • Use the KAXE/KBXE Strategic Plan to develop and prioritize productive client relationships and revenue growth
  • Knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively about KAXE/KBXE programming and events
  • Create and maintain strong, long-term working relationships with northern Minnesota arts and business communities’ clients with professionalism, follow-through and service
  • Act as the project lead on all fundraising initiatives, including on air membership drives and annual giving appeals, working closely with the membership and underwriting team
  • Identify and implement strategies for a major giving program
  • Manage key event and engagement opportunities
  • Work with General Manager to streamline and create digital products for revenue generation
