Folk and blues artist, activist and 90's college radio superstar, Ben Harper has released his 17th album called Bloodline Maintenance.
Growing up around music, Harper's grandparents had a music store, the Folk Music Center and Museum, that gave him a foundation of folk and blues that he carries in to his music today. Bloodline Maintenance keeps folk and blues at its core, adding in a bit of funk, jazz and bounce.
Harper's backing band, the Innocent Criminals do not appear on this album, though are touring it with him. Instead, Ben recorded nearly all of the instruments himself including guitar, bass (upright and electric), drums and a unique assortment of percussion.
