One summer day in 1978,
right after he'd gotten fired (not his
fault!) from the Legion Club in Hackensack,
Michael was feeling sorry for himself, and
listening to KAXE.
He heard a live studio guest playing
a fretless banjo, a sound he'd never heard
before, and called the station to say, "I'd
like to come work for you."
He joined the staff later
that year, and served as Station Manager
from 1985-1990.
He says being manager wasn't the
easiest job he's ever had, but it's the one
he's most glad he did.
Cock-eyed with gratitude,
he gets The Last Word every Saturday on
Between You and Me, hangs out with his wife,
KAXE volunteer
Gail Otteson, and splits his
time between Wabana Creek and
www.ActionMedia.org.
