KAXE Staff - Travis Ryder
|
Travis
was born and raised on the eastern Iron
Range, exposed to KAXE's radio waves from
birth but only fully aware of them after
working in college radio.
"My first semester with KUMM (at the
University of Minnesota-Morris) transformed
my musical horizons," Ryder says. So
it was natural that he would listen
intently, and then volunteer on air, at
KAXE.
After completing his studies, leading as
manager at KUMM and then at
community-college station KSRQ (Thief River
Falls), he's back on home turf as lead arts
and cultural heritage producer for KAXE.
Travis is the lead producer for
Culturology, heard select Thursday
mornings in the 8 o'clock hour. His
Culturology Calendar segment promotes arts
and culture events in our region and airs
most Thursday mornings at 6:55.
Find
the
Culturology Blog here.
Outside KAXE, Travis is a firefighter and
EMT, serving his current home city of
Coleraine and occasionally providing
emergency services at two taconite mines on
the Range. |
