Centerstage Minnesota

Friday 2pm-4m & 10pm - mid
  • Hosted by Brett Carter

Centerstage Minnesota showcases the talents of Minnesota musicians. A local production of Northern Community Radio: KAXE - Grand Rapids and KBXE - Bemidji.

Starting as a duo with one acoustic guitar, The Sea The Sea has grown into a full blown band, out with a new album, From the Light.  The band, led by Chuck and Mira Stanley, came through northern Minnesota on tour, and stopped by the KAXE studios for an in-studio session.

"...That was sort of a mission statement, if we have one with our music, was to always remind people that they're not alone...alone in their struggles...alone in their joys..."  - Mira Stanley

Jonathan Edwards of Wayward stopped in the KBXE studios for a CenterStage Minnesota live interview. Jonathan’s been performing house concerts recently creating an opportunity to get to know fans and friends alike. Find out more about Wayward at waywardsongs.com where you can order music, see concert dates, and check out new songs for an upcoming album.

John Bauer

Minnesota artist Courtney Yasmineh started writing songs in her teens. Now, a few decades later, she's traveling the world as a singer, songwriter, and now, novelist. It's a long way from finding her way through a difficult childhood to a successful career as an artist, but Courtney's making it happen.

Jonathan Rundman

Jonathan Rundman's recent record, Reservoir was 25 years in the making. To celebrate all those years of creating music, Jonathan put together a 22 song compilation of what might be called his favorites. We talk about that and more at the Minnesota State Fair.
